AKI follow-up

NICE now recommend long-term follow-up for all children who have had acute kidney injury.  

Many of these children will be treated in PICUs throughout EMEESY; some may have received renal replacement therapy whilst some will have been managed conservatively in local units through telephone advice but it is important that all are offered follow-up.  

• Pateints who have received renal replacement therapy should be transferred to the Nephrology team at Nottinhgam using the below doucment to guide inclusion and exclusion citeria.
• For those patients who have had an AKI but have not received renal replacemnet therapy, they should be followed up by the local team at the patient's local hospital
