Previous Games

In 2023 we went to Coventry, where we started the opening parade in the ruins of the old cathedral.  We had our largest team ever - 22 transplant athletes, 8 coming for the first time, and 7 competing live donors. 

There was a record haul of 30 medals - 12 gold, 9 silver and 9 bronze.  Not everyone won individual medals but for both those who did and those who didn't, there was no doubting the enormous effort that went into competing.

There was some amazing team work, in the fullest sense of the word, and in the background, many personal goals were achieved, old friendships were re-kindled, many new friends made and lots of fun was had. 

After 4 days of archery, basketball, tennis, table tennis, obstacle course, badminton, swimming, 3k walk, 5-a-side football, under 5's events, athletics and, of course, the Donor Run, we celebrated at the gala dinner, where the Transport Sport flag was passed to Kinder Crew as the host children's team next year.   Tim Reddish (Paralympian swimmer and chair of the Nottingham Transplant Games Stakeholder Board) welcomed everyone to Nottingham next year.  And then we partied!
