CKD or "low clearance" clinics will be for children with CKD stage 4 (GFR or kidney function <30%) who are working towards having a kidney transplant.

They will take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

There will usually also be other staff in clinic such as specialist nurses, dietitians, play specialists and social workers.  If you need to speak to someone other than the doctor and you cannot see them in the waiting room, please ask one of the clinic nurses to contact them.

Children who are usually seen in local shared care clinics will start to have some of their appointments at Nottingham Children's Hospital when they reach CKD stage 4.  This is to allow them to meet more members of the MDT in preparation for transplantation, and dialysis if needed.
