The Nottingham Children's Hospital urology team includes surgeons, specialist nurses and administrative staff.

The surgical team is made up of four consultant paediatric urologists, supported by a specialist paediatric urology registrar, a general surgical registrar and more junior paediatric surgical trainees on rotation. Nottingham is one of the few centres in the country recognized for subspecialty training in Paediatric Urology.

Mr Manoj Shenoy

Mr Manoj Shenoy (FRCS, FRCS Paed Surgery, FEAPU) joined as a consultant in Nottingham in 2004 after training in Bombay, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Nottingham and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

His special interests include hypospadias, reconstructive urology, stone surgery, DSD and minimally invasive surgery.

Mr Alun Williams

Mr Alun Williams (FRCS Paed Surgery) joined as a consultant in Nottingham in 2005 after training in Oxford, Leeds and Nottingham.  

His special interests include kidney transplantation (paediatric and adult, including living donor transplantation), neuropathic bladder and adolescent urology.

Mr Williams chairs the Paediatric Sub-Group of the national Kidney Advisory Group. 

Mrs Nia Fraser

Mrs Fraser joined as a consultant in ?2011.  

She has an interest in continence and is the main consultant for the video urodynamics service. 

Mrs Fraser does clinics at Lincoln County and Kings Mill Hospitals as well as in Nottingham. 

Mr Bharat More

Mr More joined as a consultant in Nottingham in 2013. 

He does clinics and has operating sessions at Kings Mill Hospital as well as in Nottingham. 

There are 4 clinical nurse specialists in paediatric urology who carry out complex assessments of bladder function and teach parents to manage children with abnormalities of bladder drainage.  

Christine Rhodes

Chris Rhodes is a clinical nurse specialist for paediatric urology and led the team in Nottingham from 1995 to 2019.  She was previously the president of the British Assocation of Paediatric Urology Nurses Group and secretary to the European Paediatric Urology Nurses' Group.  

Gill Young

Gill Young has been a paediatric urology nurse speciallist since 2000. She leads the biofeedback service. 

Emma Gamble

Emma Gamble has been a paediaric urology nurse specialist since 2008. She is involved in the development of a new enuresis clinic combining urine flow, post void scanning and Consultant review, all within the 'one-stop' clinic.

Tracy Harding

Tracy Harding is a registered children's nurse who previously worked on the renal and urology ward, E17. After a couple of years working in the community she has recently joined us as a Paediatric Urology Nurse Specialist. Tracy is involved with developing the urostomy care service. She is also the student link for the team.

Cate Morris

Cate Morris joined the Urology team in December 2023

Emma Lowe

Emma Lowe worked on the Children's Renal and Urology unit and Haemodialysis before joining the urology team in Janauary 2025

All of the urology nurses have a specific qualification in paediatric continence having been obtained at degree level: the NBB-B73 Care of the Child with Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction.
